    Travelogue
Gosh, it's been an exciting few months! I've been on holiday!

First, I explored all the way along the branch to the trunk of the tree (at least, that's what I heard a monkey call it, and monkeys are always right in my experience)! Then I camped there for a while as I prepared for my Big Expedition. A once-in-a-lifetime trip to the Bottom of the Tree. I'd be lying if I said I wasn't scared. I mean, there are all sorts of scary things down there. Never mind spiders, there are huge bald monkeys with funny coloured things draped all over them wandering about. Some of them have been putting up fences and funny wooden boxes, and I heard a rumour (it was from a parrot though, and you can't trust parrots) that they cut down trees! How crazy is that?

I mean, where do they live if they cut down the trees? You can't live at the bottom, it's all flat and dangerous. The parrot told me there's lots more of it too, like it stretches off in all directions forever. I didn't believe her. Fluff-headed parrots.

Anyway, I didn't stay long, since there were horrible things and snakes and lots of brown stuff and it was altogether too unpleasant to stick around. I came back up and went for an expedition up a different branch from my own. Took lots of photos, but a lizard stole my films. Bloody lizards. Why can't they go back where they came from? Far too many of them in my tree. Us marsupials should stick up for ourselves and not let them come in and take our jobs (and our films!).

Anyway, that's enough for now, I'm completely exhausted.

    Oh no!
I just found out I'm an endangered species! Apparently there's mot many of us Cuscus around, and we only live in the very northernmost tip of Queensland in Australia and in parts of New Guinea. Apparently those large pink creatures that walk about on their hind legs hunt us for our fluffy pelts, which is damned beastly of them.

Well, that's put a crimp on my day.

    Hah!

I crept along the nextdoor branch this morning and...

    *pounce*

I ate them burdies. Tasty lunch that was, won't have to eat for a while now.

Think I'll go rest in the sunshine for a while.

Ever since I got this journal, I've been struck by the overwhelming urge to write gothy poetry. I don't know what a goth is, but they sound pretty scary, so maybe some type of spider perhaps? Anyway, I don't want to write poems about spiders, so I think I'll give it a miss for now.

    My near-death experience
I just can't seem to sleep. It must be the shock of my near-death experience today. Well, that may be over-egging the cake, but here's how it happened:

I was on my way back from lying out at the end of my branch in the sunshine all day, and had just munched on a tasty leetle burdie for my dinner, when I heard this rustling noise. "Don't be silly" I told myself. It's just the wind. Anyway, I carried on for a while (it's slow going on a long branch in the hot sunshine). Suddenly, I felt something on my back. I jumped out the way only to see this horrible leggedy-thing pouncing at me! I ran half the way back along the branch in sheer terror. After a while, I plucked up the courage to come back along the branch a bit, until I could see the thing again. It wasn't moving, so I got closer. Then I noticed it was a leaf. Silly me, I nearly died of fright.

The birds on the next branch laughed at me. Maybe I will eat them for their insolence tomorrow.

I like this song. It's about squishing spiders. This makes me happy. I don't like spiders at all, oh no.

    First Post!!!
Well, I gave in to peer pressure and got a blog thingy. All the cool arboreal marsupials have them, so why not me?

Anyway, I thought I saw a spider today, which gave me a right shock. Luckily it was just a leaf. Anyway, scared the bejesus out of me. I'm going to have a cup of tea and go to bed to recover.
